When I was a child, I loved science, and because of that, I thought I was destined to be a veterinarian. But in college, I realized I was more passionate about using my science background to care for people rather than animals, and after graduation, I chose to go to medical school. During my studies, I wasn't sure what specialty was meant for me. Once I learned more about pediatrics, I knew I had found my calling.
In pediatrics, I am passionate about preventive care, allowing me to address health problems before they start and help children stay healthy through their youth and into adulthood. I love working with families, meeting them where they are and developing plans together to help children grow and flourish to reach their full potential.
In my career, I have received the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Founder's Society Distinguished Physician Award and was part of the inaugural class of LIFT, Leveraging Internal Female Talent.
In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and two children, particularly doing outdoor activities like hiking, running, biking and traveling. My daughter and I also enjoy riding horses together.
